The Final Question...12!!

Hello and goodbye!

This is it for all you fellow APers. It will be weird to actually have students next year that I do not know. I've grown accustomed to your little faces for the past three years. How ever will I work with newbies? I don't know what they're like or how to approach....yikes!

Well, I must say that I am extremely proud of all you've accomplished in English these past three years. It's amazing what you can do when you put your mind ( and muscle in this case with all the writing) to it. While some of you may not be thrilled with your grades or AP scores, you have to admit that your tenacity has made you a better writer...slightly more confident, able to think outside of the box a bit? Whatever evolution has occurred just remember that you will be able to use the skills we've given you to achieve great things...and Eng 101 or 102 is going to be cake!

Now, it is my belief that you all have a theme song. You know, that song that when you're feeling amazing goes through your head. It may change from year to year as it should...they say that every seven years you're a new person to cell growth...weird...but it's that song that captures your heart and soul because it exemplifies all that you are.

So, what's your theme song? Better yet, pick a character and tell me what you think his/her theme song might be. Would Rochester's be "Beautiful"? Or maybe, Grendel's song is "Don't Let Me Get Me"? You decide...

PS. You are all more than welcome to drop in on the blog next year to add some flava! Please do...

Mischley

I don't want to think about the end! It's so sad! English in college will be ridiculous...and I swear, if we read any William Blake next year, I am breaking out in the fly rap, I do not even care. Oh, and Beth, we need to start P.A.L.S. branches at our respective colleges.
ANYWAY, Ethan Frome's theme song would be "Long December" by Counting Crows. The lyrics and the tone of the song fit him perfectly, describing his attitude about life, Zeena, and Mattie. For the lyrics, go here: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/c/counting+crows/a+long+december_20033462.html
My theme song at the moment would have to be She Moves in Her Own Way by the Kooks. It's not even that the lyrics that really fit, but this is the happiest sounding song you will ever hear. It's like sunshine in music form and whenever I hear it I smile. So, when I'm in a good mood, this song goes through my head. Go listen to it!

Holy cow the end is near but don't worry Mischely i will still email you your blog address at the end of the summer. It will be so wierd next year b/c no one will express thier opinion as much as i did and then for me, i will have to start all over agian getting aquainted with a new teacher. As of right now i think my theme song would be L. Keith's fav. song "Love Song" by Sarah Baraillis (not sure on the spelling) because it fits me perfectly. It would be this or Miss INdependent by Kelly Clarkson.

Character wise, I think that Jane Eyre would be Accidentally in Love (also by the Counting Crows). Jane did not plan to fall in love especially with her boss of all people so it fits. THey are happy at the end of the novel so this song would be a good song for the final chapter.

Wow, i am really going to miss this class. It has been a lot of fun guys!

as always, i have to use lotf

i think Ralph's theme song would be "one last breath" by Creed. At the end of hte book he is really holding on with one last breath until the soldiers show up and rescue him.

woooooooooooooooooooooow last one... its been fun listening because i know i didn't say anything...so sorry

My theme song as of right now is "end of the road" by boys 2 men cuz its graduation season, last weeks of classes, basically the end of the high school road... yeah sad...

In great expectations towards the end of the book when Pip realizes Estella is marrying Bentley Drummle, his theme song is "i can be your hero" by Enrique Iglesias... Pip wants to be her hero and rescue her from her cruel and marriage...

As i said before i didn't talk much but i really enjoyed this class and im gonna miss you guys...

Aw this is kinda sad since it's the last question and all. Last blog question, last two weeks of school, last time I'll be saying thiss ... ahh

My theme song would be Graduation by Vitamin C since that is the only thing that's really been on my mind lately. Yeah corny but what can I say? Last time being corny...

Anyways, Mama from Raisin in the Sun would chose to have Don't Stop Believing by Journey be her theme song. She was the one in the family who always had faith and kept the family together.

yes 'tis sad that this three year adventure is coming to an end, but all i can say is.. NO MORE SUMMER READING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! sorry. i got excited. right now i am obsessed with "Lets Get Down to Business" by Donny Osmond (sp?). it's from "Mulan" and i love that song i lot! i'm not sure it exemplifies how i feel, i mean i'm not ready to go defeat the Huns, but it always makes me happy..

"oops i did it again" by b.spears fits abigail from the crucible. she's 'not that innocent'

mischley, did you think you could get rid of me that easily? i will email you like everyday next year! i really am sad about graduating..im gunna cry at graduation =[

i think Tom Joad's theme song would be "Won't Back Down" by Mat Kearney because he's a fighter and he doesnt take crap from anyone!

my theme song right now is "Hallelujah" by Paramore because its just a fantastic song...it gets me all pumped up =]

brittanyy, dont worry, anything we dont do, we can always do tommorrow. =)
em, 143 paramore- dance parties over the phone next year.
and of course I think we'll all be on the blog next year, and probably have comments made from the new seniors about how annoying it is...andd secretly we'll love that.

well my song would be Toad the Wet Sprocket "All I Want" or Matchbox 20 "Downfall" becausee well I love being in love.

I think that Edna's song would be Against Me's "Thrash Unreal" because its all about being a strong woman and not needing to fit the mold of society to find happiness in life.

Wow... There's so many songs running through my mind right now... and none of them really fit a character perfectly, so maybe one will come to me while I write about my theme song...
Like ten minutes ago I was looking at pictures from THE GREAT BIG ADVENTURE, so there's really three songs in my head right now:
1. Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down) by Chumbawamba because we, the AMAZING Sunshine Adventures who always win(according to Laura,)use this song to describe our night
2. You're Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins because I really do not think that there is one person in our class who can honestly say that they will not miss coming to school everyday and walking down the hallways of WBHS, knowing who everyone is, at least a little bit
3. The song that I would probably consider mostly my theme song at this point, I'm Only Me When I'm With You by Taylor Swift... I know my friends hate it (a.k.a. Tricia, Laura, and Liz,) but it really reminds me of the four of us and how we are completely ourselves when we are around each other.

The song Better Days by the Goo Goo Dolls just came on my IPOD and I think that it could be George's theme song (Yes, I used Of Mice and Men once again :-P) After George kills Lennie, he has a chance to start his life over. Lennie's death is kind of a mercy killing, so I don't think that anyone is actually mad at George for doing it (certainly not the angry mob trying to hunt him down, but I don't think the readers are either... they understand and forgive him for doing it.) The song says:
"So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight's the world begins again."
George is forgiven and is given a chance to live his life the way he wants to and find "better days."

Wow, I think this is the longest post I've ever written and now that I'm realizing that it's my last I really think I'm going to miss it.

My theme song would have to be the spice girls wannabe. Not because fo the lyrics but because this is a song that i have loved ever since i was little and even when it is played now like at school dances i still love it. Probably just like everyone else.

Jane Eyre's song would be take a bow by rihanna. She was so in love with Mr. Rochester only to be let down while about to wed him when she finds out that he has a wife. One line in this song says "but you put on quite a show, really had me going, but now its time to go, curtains finally closing." This is Jane telling Rochester that he had her going for awhile but now its all over with and he can "take his bow"
