QOW #4

Yee-Haaaaa!!

Midterms are over...time to relax! Oh, wait....Sorry but it's RESEARCH PAPER TIME!!!

Yes, it's that special time of the year where everyone starts scrambling to fulfill the paper requirements....where everyone stops acting polite and becomes so crazed that stealing a copy of Great Expectations from a baby is considered the norms. Can you smell the overworked printers churning out page after hot page? Ahhh....let the games begin!!!

With that in mind, let's revert back to an oldy but goody for QOW #4...

Choose a character from any novel and tell me what his/her senior research paper would be titled. Include a brief explanation of the contents.

Haaaa, this is the first time Ive ever been first...and ittll prob be the last time I'm ever not the last person again....Wrap your minds around that

On that note, Alice's research paper would be Psychoanalysis of Dreams and Effects from Everyday Life.....she would analyze what occurences during the day affect dreams...and how drug use affects dreams....cuz i totally think Alice is smokin the dope

Anyone else agree?

I agree with Max... and i think if anyone sat next to Tricia when she was talking about Alice, they would say she strongly agrees as well. :-P

Anyways... Bill Chalmers from The Diagnosis would write a research paper on diseases and how they can affect every aspect of a person's life. He could relate his own experiences with disease to diseases of characters in other novels as well, to make the paper more personal.

Pip would write a research paper called The Causes and Effects of Class Distinction. He would compare and contrast the social class stratification in differnt novels and also in the world he lives in.

P.S. I don't see why Alice in Wonderland can't just be a clever and fanciful story...clearly, I'm naive.

Nora from The Awakening would wright about qualities that people look for in a spouse. She would get facts on how mnay people marry spouses just like their mothers or fathers. Copying Liz Ameno, Nora could make it more personal by adding herself to her reasearch.

Uh, Chel? Nora is from A Doll's House, Edna is from The Awakening. Get it straight, woman!

chelly dont read this because this is about your utmost FAVORITE book in the world. (sense sarcasm chels turn back noww)

Abigail Williams from The Crucible would write a research paper on the affects of lying and hysteria. As we all know she and her friends did quite a nice job making up stories and accusing people of witchcraft.

Maybe the paper will teach her a lesson.

I am in teh Lord of the Flies mood, seeing as Lost just started...anyway Ralph would have a research paper titled "The Necessity for orded and civilty." He would discuss all the civilizations that were ruined when order was not kept. he could also use some personal experience to help prove his thesis.

Max would think Alice is smoking dope...

Anyways, I would choose Holden Caufield in "Catcher in the Rye" to write his paper on Depression; Cause and Effect.
He would have a first hand experience on the subject seeing as though he suffered from it as well.

I think I'm going to use Meg's favorite book, Cry, the Beloved Country and say that John Kumalo would write his research paper on racism and injustice. He would discuss the inequalities he faces as he tries to find his son. He might also talk about all of the violence that streams from it.

hahaha; max, my paper is on alice being on dope. :P

at any rate, i think that Tom Joad would write about the hardships faced by families that were traveling westward during the Dustbowl. He would include personal experiences, as well as many historical facts and stories.

wowwww brittany.
I think you have a secret crush on kumalo. or is it jarvis? andd that is why you've left me and are not in school and its causing me to have these horrible panic attacks everyday. not even joking.

anyways.

I think that Jim Casey from Grapes would write a paper titled Enlightenment: The Beauty of the Spiritual Experience. Casey was big on the whole "finding who you are" aspect of life, and although it was something he himself struggled with constantly, he finally realized that his religion and helping others was his true calling. I feel like he would love to write a paper about it and help other people reach enlightnement as well.

first of all, i agree with liz crawford. I refuse to believe that Alice was influenced by any sort of drug. I mean if I were on crack I couldn't think of all those whimsical little puns. they're too cute to be from a grown man hopped up on narcotics.

And for a research paper...

Napoleon from Animal farm would write a paper on references to dictators in various books. Satire would be his focus, and he'd write about how he is really Stalin and reference a lot of dictators. He loves them so he would enjoy it.

i made a THIRD blogger account, hopefully this works. maybe it won't hate me so much this time...

hm, well....i think that George from "Of Mice and Men" should write a research paper on retardation. this way, he could fully understand what Lenny is going through and he may have been able to handle him better if he better understodd his condition.

=)

Um... maybe Alice was reaalyyy tired to think up all that stuff...

Gregor from The Metamorphosis would write a research paper on different kinds of bugs. He would try to find which bug resembles him the most... even tho hes not a bug...

Jane's research paper would be titled "Women's Roles in Society." She would learn about how she should could contribute to society and how her roles affect the lives of others. She would also see that how she was treated was unacceptable as a child.

I'm kinda with Amanda on this one. I think that Daisy Buchanan could also write a paper on the expectations and roles of women in society. She could research the responsibilities that women of different classes hold and discuss to what extent they can be successful as individuals.
