Question of the Week #9

" I want candy..."

I'm hungry for something sweet to eat, which (of course) got me thinking.

Turn your favorite character into something sweet and tell me what he/she would be.

Remember...you must keep characterization in mind. For example, Roger from LOTF (shout out to Chrissy!!) would never be a Dove bar...it's too sweet and creamy and delicious for Roger...actually, could he be any type of candy?

I'm really hungry now and all I have is an apple...wheeee...nature's candy...yah, me...might as well chew on some paper...

im first yay..

Wemmick from great expectations would be a sour patch kid. Sour patch kids are sour then when its all most gone it becomes sweet kinda like wemmick. At work hes sour, cynical, and has his business face on, but when he gets out of work hes friendly, happy, and shows that he has a heart.

Piggy from Lord of the Flies would be a pack of nerds. Clearly he is a nerd himself as he is super smart and wears his nerdy glasses. He could also be a nerds rope, which ever one he prefers.

I think that Jay Gatsby would be a rich chocolate candy bar. They both seem rich and luxurious on the outside, but on the inside they are truly misleading and full of lies( and calories! )

I think that Edna Ponteiller, from The Awakening, would be a take 5 bar becasue of all of her differnet personalitites and duties that she shows. She shows her motherly side, her wife side, her lover side, her artistic side, and her independent side. There is your candy bar. I must state that she is not my favorite character at all but she was the first person i thought of.

i think the nurse from Romeo and Juliet would be carmel popcorn because she was the comic relief in that play and when i think of popcorn i think of fun and watching funny movies and this is the end of my run-on sentence.

The End :)

Mrs. Reed from Jane Eyre would be a Warhead. She always had a mean, biting, sour personality, especially towards Jane, that never really went away. Even on the brink of death she refused to make amends with Jane, just as Warheads never really lose that kick even once you suck off all the sugar.
P.S. Maybe Gregor could be a Cockroach Cluster! :-P

Like Tim, I also thought of Sour Patch Kids when I read this question. As the commerical says, "First they're sour, then they're sweet." I think that Ethan from Ethan Frome would be a sour patch kid because when he's married to Zena he's miserable and crabby (sour) and when he meets Mady, he's filled with happiness and falls in love with her (sweet).

I think that Atticus from To Kill a Mockingbird would be a tootsie pop. On the outside, he is hard and not very emotional, but deep down on the inside they're just something amazing and gentle about him.

I think Miss Havisham would be a popsicle, not a nice one either. One of those random like banana flavored ones you forget about because no one likes it and then it gets all covered in freezer burn so its cold and gross like Miss Havisham. Plus it has a stick up its rear end like her! :p but if you let it sit for long enough it will start to melt, like she did. Didn't she like die in a fire too?! Ok that's my popsicle story! :)

George from Mice and Men would be a MetRx protien bar because he's very dense (pun intended)and very strong. Also MetRx bars are very expensive and thats just dumb...likewise, George is not very intelligent.

If I were to choose one candy for a specific literary character, I would choose Dark Chocolate for Mr. Rochester because he is extremely dark and mysterious, kind of like the candy!

Mama from The Grapes of Wrath would be an M&M because she is tough as nails on the outside, but truly cares about her family on the outside. While she seems stubborn, it is because she has a warm heart.

I think ruthie from Grapes of Wrath would be poprocks because she seems like a little spitfire. She is always happy and full of life despite their horrible situation and she seems to just have a competitive nature.

i think nora from a doll's house would be an airhead because she is pretty much an airhead until the end of the book when she finally realizes that she acts like shes 5
